CORPORATE MINGLE…networking with a purpose

Omar Azan to speak on the future of the Jamaican Economy & Brand Jamaica

Creative Media and Events, creators of WEALTH Magazine and Bar Week, relaunches Corporate Mingle in 2010 with a bang, corporate Jamaica’s premier networking opportunity Friday, February 26, 2010 from 6:00pm -10:00pm at the Fiction Lounge, Market Place on Constant Spring Road.

This staging of the event will be primarily significant due to the topical nature of the proceedings, which will be highlighted by guest speaker, President of the Jamaica Manufacturing Association (JMA), Omar Azan, giving an in-depth look at the state of the Jamaican economy and various ways in which it can be improved.

Mr. Azan is widely recognized as a man who is very passionate and who speaks very frankly about matters impacting the local economy. In December of last year Mr. Azan raised eye-brows when in a Jamaica Observer article, he was noted as saying Jamaica’s involvement with Caricom has done more harm than good to the country. He added that the current Government needs to re-evaluate its membership with the regional umbrella group.

In the same article Mr. Azan was noted as saying, “Sometimes we make decisions based on the possibilities, but what are the realities?”
He added, “In 2008, Jamaica’s trade deficit with Caricom stood at minus US$1.6 billion, need I say more.”

An equally informative presentation will be made by executives from the First Global Bank & First Global Financial Services.

Come network and have cocktails with some of the island's top business personalities, journalists, entertainment insiders. At each staging, a leader in his/her field speaks for 15 minutes, giving you the 'must-knows' of making it to the top of your field.
Some previous speakers at Corporate Mingle have been Dennis Chung, financial analyst, and Stephen Spence (president of the Young entrepreneur association of Jamaica).
An opportunity is also given to persons from the audience to give a 5 minute presentation about their own companies to the guests present.

Sponsors of the event are Johnnie Walker & First Global Financial Services.
