पार्टी इन मोंटेगो बी

'Johnnie Walker Corporate Mingle Mobay was a big hurrayyy'!

Jamaica’s corporate networking scene buzzed with excitement last Friday, when ‘Corporate Mingle’, sponsored by Johnnie Walker and JIIC, and hosted by Creative Media and Events, creators of Wealth Magazine and Spa Week, the event made a stop in the second city, Montego Bay.

The Blue Beat Jazz & Martini Bar was filled with the rich presence of western Jamaica’s leading corporate executives, who came ‘to network with a purpose’.

“In the effort to reach our target market and to boost our market share in Montego Bay, we thought Corporate Mingle would be a great opportunity to achieve this,” says Elizabeth Chung, assistant marketing manager at JIIC Kingston.

She added, “Also, recognizing the quality of the promoters, Garth Walker and Leighton Davis of Creative Media & Events, and the great turnout that their events always receive, we thought that the association with corporate mingle would be a success.”

Courts Montego Bay’s branch manager, Morine Carr, expressed delight having been at the event. “I had a very fulfilling experience. I went to rub shoulders with my colleagues and left with solid business as well, having made a sale to the tune of JA$167, 000.”
Ms. Carr further expressed appreciation for the initiative by indicating a desire to partner with the hosts to make the event bigger.

Where executives gather, haughty laughs are heard, however, Ity and Fancy Cat filled the air with haughtier laughs, through their skits scrutinizing the current bleaching phenomena and Jamaicans inferior ability to sell their products, this in comparison to the now extremely popular Colombians from the televised Colombian Trade Show.

Customarily, representatives network and have cocktails with some of the islands fellow top business personalities, journalists, entertainment insiders and more monthly at the Fiction Lounge, Constant Spring Road (the events Kingston venue). Each month, a leader in his/her speaks for 15 minutes, giving you the 'must-knows' of making it to the top of your field. Attendees have gotten key business tips from the likes of Dennis Chung, Ian Lyn and persons from the audience get 5 minutes to present their own companies to the guests present.
Afraid to approach the CEO of a top company? Been dying to pitch a new idea to a marketing exec? Or have you just wanted to meet others without the drear of the boardroom? We know! "Corporate Mingle" is just for YOU!
